El Salvador’s President Will Speak at Bitcoin 2022

The President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, is confirmed to speak at the keenly-anticipated Bitcoin 2022 Conference. The Miami-based event, planned for April 6-9, is the world’s biggest Bitcoin-focused conference. As a key speaker, Mr. Bukele will share his experience of using bitcoin as legal tender.

Presently, El Salvador is the only country to have adopted the orange coin as national currency. To this end, Nayib Bukele will address how bitcoin has changed his nation and the opportunities the cryptocurrency has provided.

“After virtually announcing my intention to make Bitcoin legal tender in El Salvador at Bitcoin 2021, I am pleased to be speaking at Bitcoin 2022,” Mr. Bukele said. He also noted he will “deliver an update on the progress we have made as the world’s first Bitcoin-native country.”

More Bitcoin Wallets Than Bank Accounts

The Central American country, that is small and economically-weak, is expected to witness growth and more opportunity now that bitcoin is legal tender. Further, more Salvadorans have access to financial services through bitcoin than traditional bank accounts. Also, the nation can send and receive money from foreign countries at lower costs and better access.

“El Salvador now has more citizens who have a bitcoin wallet than have a bank account,” El Salvador’s President highlighted. “Bitcoin is bringing financial access and freedom to millions of Salvadorans.”

Bitcoin 2022 Greets President Nayib Bukele

“We are proud to announce President of El Salvador Nayib Bukele as a speaker,” the Bitcoin 2022 Twitter account said. “At Bitcoin 2021 Bukele announced plans to make bitcoin legal tender in El Salvador via video. He will join the speaker lineup for 2022 in-person. See you in Miami!”

The Bitcoin conference last year hosted more than 12,000 people from all over the world. This year, the event should bring even more participants to Miami as the crypto space has increased in size substantially. With this in mind, the future projections for bitcoin remain positive. Many use the recent market decline as a chance to buy the dip and enter into the world of bitcoin and cryptocurrency. And to take advantage of these opportunities, nothing is better than doing a crypto exchange with the lowest fees.
