Jack Dorsey, a Long-time Bitcoin Supporter, Has a New Goal

Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter and Square, is one of the most prolific figures in mainstream business when it comes to cryptocurrency. His payment company Square, has invested about $230 million in Bitcoin. Also, Square has paved the way for users to own and trade the flagship token since 2018 through its Cash App payment service.

He is also one of the most outspoken Bitcoin evangelists, expecting the digital currency to achieve massive mainstream adoption and turn into a leading global currency. In a recent Bitcoin conference, he said it’s his “mission in life” to promote Bitcoin awareness and spread its adoption.

Now, he has taken another step toward getting closer to achieving his lofty goals. The latest step in his grand vision is the launch of an online conference aimed to educate institutions about Bitcoin, the world’s largest digital currency.

The B Word Will Focus on Delivering Key Insights on Bitcoin

The B Word, as the educational initiative is called, will go live on July 21. The event will feature Mr. Dorsey, along with other notable supporters of the crypto movement. As expected, the conference is organized by Square, and is endorsed by ARK Invest and Paradigm, two large-scale investment firms with a focus on crypto. In addition, the event will be sponsored by the Crypto Council for Innovation, a trade group focused on promoting the social and economic benefits of digital assets and blockchain technologies.

Moreover, the online conference will feature other speakers, including Cathie Wood, founder, CEO and CIO of ARK Invest, Adam Back, Blockstream co-founder, and John Newbery, a noted Bitcoin developer.

The focused initiative, according to the official website, “aims to demystify and destigmatize mainstream narratives about Bitcoin, explain how institutions can and should embrace it, and raise awareness around areas of the network that need support.” The B Word initiative will also provide a complementary library of resources for institutions considering embracing Bitcoin.

“As more companies and institutions get into the mix, we all want to help protect and spread what makes bitcoin open development so perfect,” Jack Dorsey said on Twitter in relation to the initiative on July 21. “This day is focused on education and actions to do just that,” he concluded.
